Bo. Philip has served as the pastor at CBC since January 2014. He is a pastor who is very involved and well respected in Alabama Baptist life. He has served on numerous committees and boards with the Alabama Baptist State Convention. He currently is a member of the Christian Life Commission. He is also a chaplain with Alabama Baptist Disaster Relief. He is also a volunteer chaplain at Regional Medical Center in Anniston.
He is a graduate of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Auburn University at Montgomery and The Community College of the Air Force. He has completed critical incident/stress management training and other courses involved with chaplaincy. Bro. Philip is a lifelong learner.
As a longtime pastor, Bro. Philip considers himself to be a pastor/teacher in style. He enjoys leading Christians in working through the Bible book by book. The Truth of the Bible speaks for itself in his messages Sunday after Sunday.
Bro. Philip is retired from the Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant (E8) with over 21 years’ service. He is also the Chairman of the Cleburne County Board of Registrars under the direction of the Alabama Secretary of State’s Office.
