Bro. Philip Morris - Pastor

Bro. Philip has served as the pastor at CBC since January 2014. He is a pastor who is very involved and well respected in Alabama Baptist life. He has served on numerous committees and boards with the Alabama Baptist State Convention. He currently is a member of the Christian Life Commission. He is also a chaplain with Alabama Baptist Disaster Relief. He is also a volunteer chaplain at Regional Medical Center in Anniston.

He is a graduate of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Auburn University at Montgomery and The Community College of the Air Force. He has completed critical incident/stress management training and other courses involved with chaplaincy. Bro. Philip is a lifelong learner.

As a longtime pastor, Bro. Philip considers himself to be a pastor/teacher in style. He enjoys leading Christians in working through the Bible book by book. The Truth of the Bible speaks for itself in his messages Sunday after Sunday.

Bro. Philip is retired from the Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant (E8) with over 21 years’ service. He is also the Chairman of the Cleburne County Board of Registrars under the direction of the Alabama Secretary of State’s Office.

Marty Barber - Youth Minister

Marty has served as the Youth Pastor at CBC since August 2023. He accepted the call to preach in February 2012 at the age of 21 and has been in youth ministry since 2013. He is very passionate about sharing Jesus with the next generation. He loves seeing their fire for Jesus grow as they learn more about Him. He loves what he does!

Marty is a graduate of Liberty University with a Master’s Degree in Business and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Religion with a minor in Biblical Studies. Marty has also obtained three certificates from the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. He is a graduate of Cleburne County High School and is thankful for the opportunity to serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in his hometown.

Marty is also a missionary to Haiti and to Guatemala. Since 2013, he has made 8 trips to Haiti and 3 trips to Guatemala. He has a passion for evangelism and missions. He feels there is something special about introducing someone to Jesus for the first time.
